Art : The Science of Perspective
About Lesson

It’s not until you are standing a nose away from this painting that you realize every “highlight” is in fact unpainted canvas.

Van Gogh was so poor that he was frugal with his paint. So his paintings never covered the entire canvas. Once you are standing close to it, you can see how much canvas is not actually painted in a Van Gogh.

A detail about the Artist that I discovered on my own with simple observation.

I have done more work on Van Gogh’s Psychology than his actual art style.

I cannot watch this Dr. Who episode and not cry. What the curator says here… says it all.
