Nero had Consumption. He had also petitioned the Senate to rebuild Rome. 

They declined his request. Soon after, all of Rome burned while Nero did nothing. 

He did rebuild Rome. 

He blamed the Destruction of Rome on the Christians, which either launched or contributed to The Persecution of The Christians. This correlates with the Biblical story of Saul/Paul who began as a Roman Loyalist before converting to Christianity.

In 60 CE, Nero made Christianity illegal, which then became an underground Religion.
