In 285 CE, Emperor Diocletian split the Roman Empire into the East and The West. He did this to gift the Empire to his two sons.

When we talk about “The Fall of Rome,” we are only talking about the Fall of the Western part. 

Only 1/2 of Rome “fell.”

The Western Roman Empire retreated to the Eastern Roman Empire (Byzantium) who was consoled by his brother. In 75 years, The Eastern Roman Empire, would stage “A Come Back” and they did. 

Except, Rome had a reputation.
